1/ As the first customer in your new salon I'm happy to report that I had a great experience having my hair cut this morning. I'm very pleased with the cut and was able to play hockey this evening without my fringe flopping into my eyes :-) It was nice to be listened to in terms of what I wanted from my haircut, even though I wasn't too good at explaining it! Clearly you've put a lot of effort into the salon and it looks great. I really liked the extra touches such as the choc biscuit with the coffee (despite having left it - normally I would have scoffed it but having eaten rather a lot of biscuits before coming to your salon I thought I should show some restraint!). See you on Friday when I bring Matthew in.

2/ Lydia was very friendly and I was really pleased with my hair cut. It was nice to be offered coffee (with a chocolate biscuit - it's the little things!) and I thought the salon was nice and spacious, and the music and products were nice too. The water was a bit too hot then cold but Lydia was quick to remedy it! I have booked in again, so I can only say the service was really good.

She's a fellow netmum who's opened her own hairdressing salon in Gloucester road and I've just come back (yesterday) from having my hair saved by her. (Had bad hairdo from a so called reputable salon and she spent over three hours talking to me about hair care, tips and saving my hair. There's a 20 per cent off first go for netmums. 10/  I just wanted to write to thank Nuala for the service I received recently. I had just had a foot operation and was in need of a "lift" and my hair was definitely in need of a good cut. The new salon is lovely and Nuala is very friendly and approachable and was happy to listen whilst I was sure I had the most unworkable hair ever - whereas in reality I'm sure she's heard that a few times. 14/ I'd like to say a huge thank you and recommendation for Nuala, I'd heard lots of good things about her on here so when I needed my hair cutting as my usual hairdresser was on maternity leave I thought I'd book myself in for a birthday treat! I can honestly say I've had the best haircut I've ever had, and I've always been happy with previous cuts but Nuala definitely did something better!! The staff were friendly but nor overbearing, I didn't feel rushed as I tried to explain what I wanted (something I never find easy!), great refreshments on offer in a large spacious studio and I came away with a haircut I love. 27/  This was the first Groupon voucher I'd used and what a fab experience. The salon's lovely, Jade who looked after me was lovely and I'm really pleased with the wash, treatment, cut and blow dry.
Rebooked for my next cut straight away.
My hair feels so much softer after the treatment!

34/  I recently had my hair cut and coloured by nuala at her beautiful new salon on the Gloucester road. i don’t normally like going to the hairdressers but nuala was so lovely that i found the experience pleasurable and relaxing and she gave my hair a really good cut, so good that it doesn’t need any maintenance which is just how i like it. the colour is also lovely and so was the refreshing cup of green tea. i couldn’t help but look at myself in the shop windows after i left the salon and also noticed quite a few admiring glances – a few more than usual! thanks nuala and best of luck i’m sure your salon is going to be the place to have one’s hair done in bristol.

I recently had my hair cut, coloured and re-styled at Nuala, by Nuala – the whole experience was enjoyable – despite the fact my hair was being very stubborn (years of home colouring ;) ) and lifting the colour took over 3 hours!
Nuala and her team were attentive throughout, checking progress, making sure I was ok, fully fueled on hot and cold drinks, and given a stack of magazines to browse through.
The result was great, easy to manage, with a new, funky colour. I live locally, can walk to the salon and will definitely be supporting my local hairdresser in the future!  Libran Tiger

37/  I have been getting my hair cut and coloured at nuala’s hair studio since it opened in March, Nuala is so very passionate about her job. She really listens to what you want and is happy to give you suggestions if you want them. Nuala takes the time to make you feel at ease and confident when in her salon.

40/  I recently had to look for a new stylist as mine (who had been doing my hair for five years) moved away. I’d tried out a couple and was utterly underwhelmed. But, then I discovered Nuala. I live just down the road from the salon and popped in to check availability. Nuala spent ten minutes with me chatting about my hair and best options. I was really impressed with all of her comments so booked in for a cut and colour. I’m not easily impressed by hairdressers, I have really thick hair and have had a lot of bad haircuts. However, Nuala was absolutely brilliant. She made loads of time for my appointment and I loved every minute of it. You have yourself a new regular customer – thank you!

41/  I visited Nuala Hair studio last week having purchased a groupon voucher. I found the service really friendly, helpful, informative and most importantly the hairdresser (cannot remember her name) did a really good cut. She was honest about how I should have my hair and what would suit me and my face shape best for which I am very grateful because I have found previous hairdressers not very helpful in this area. I shall be visiting again.

42/ Firstly il congratulate Nuala on creating such a lovely hair studio, it is warm and welcoming with a modern and unique feel. Nuala was great, she picked up on my nerves about having my hair cut and did her best to reassure me as the cut progressed. It has been over a week since my haircut and I can honestly say it is the best cut and style I have ever had. I credit this to Nuala being attentive and listening to what i wanted and asking about my hair routine. She has made it so easy to style that I rarely have a hair out of place. It was such a nice experience that I booked my next appointment there and then. I also bought some products she recommended, usually I wouldn’t consider this but I am so glad I did, they were quite expensive however I only need use a tiny amount and my hair is in the best condition of it’s life.
I’d recommend Nuala to anyone looking for a hair studio where they will feel comfortable whilst getting a top quality haircut. Also the drinks menu and chocolate biscuit was a lovely touch.

43/ I took my daughter to Nuala’s last Friday. For a tidy up of her Jessie J bob. A nice place with comfy seats and friendly receptionist and stylist. My 9 year old daughter seems happy with her cut so we will visit again. It’s important we support local businesses and I am very pleased to support Nuala’s.

The highlights turned out well and the treatment was quick and efficient. The cost was very reasonable compared to other rip off salons. Very pleased customer who will be returning.

47/  I visited Nuala HS a week ago and was seen to by Nuala herself. As a busy mum of 2 small kids my hair has spent too long in a ponytail with the occasion bashing with a home hair dye or ghds and so was in desperate need of an over-haul. I had a new cut and went from dark to blonde- big changes but Nuala made me feel relaxed, did an amazing job and considered not just what I wanted but what would suit me. I absolutely love what she did! A week on my hair is still sitting lovely, the colour is gorgeous and been getting so many compliments. She was really friendly and helpful and gave me loads of good suggestions for things to do with my hair, what sorts of styles would suit me etc. I don’t usually like going into salons (I’ve been using having my hair cut at home by a mobile hairdresser for a few years) but she made it a really enjoyable experience (also liked being given a proper coffee and magazines!) and I was really pleased with the cut she did. I’d definitely go back again.

50/  It was my second visit to Nuala last week and I’m really happy with the cut she does and the way she checks what you want several times before going in for the chop! I’ve come out with a stylish cut which if it was like last time keeps its shape really well between visits. Easy to chat too Nuala also offers you magazines and a drinks menu for a free drink. I have now visited Nuala three times. Each time she spends a long time not only cutting my hair, but also making recommendations and giving tips on how to care for my hair. The cut is wonderful and I have had many compliments. It does wonders for my self esteem!
In addition, her assistant Jade cut my 5 year old daughter’s hair beautifully.

Both ladies are friendly, professional and excellent at what they do. I would recommend without hesitation.

54/  Nuala did an amazing job with my hair when I got married last year so I wanted to try the studio when it opened. Nuala carefully listened and discussed both my colour and cut beforehand. After having had some disastrous haircuts in the past I was a bit wary about having my hair done somewhere for the first time, but I needn’t have worried. I had a great experience everyone at work has commented, un-prompted that my hair looks really nice. The advice I got on colour that suited my skin tone was spot on and the tips on how to style it myself at home have been really useful.

I booked my appointment back in November as part of a Groupon promotion. Instead of being with a junior stylist like most salons offering a promotion, my appointment was with Nuala herself.She was very friendly, offered great advice on what style to have and how to maintain it afterwards.

It’s a very relaxed friendly atmosphere and I didn’t feel rushed like you can be in other salons despite being the last customer of the day. I liked the place so much I went back the next week to have Nuala colour my hair. I will continue to use them in future as I am glad I have found a friendly hairdresser I can trust. Guilfy x

I am really pleased with my hair cut. Nuala herself did it and she asked me what I want from my hair cut, how much time I want to spend managing it etc. She transformed my ‘mop’ to a really nice hairstyle which I am very pleased with. Even my husband said it’s the best hair cut I’ve had for a long time which speaks for itself!!

What’s nice is that she took time explaining how to manage my curly hair, recommended products to help and even said I was welcome to call if I had any questions! I was so pleased with the cut I booked my daughter in too – she has very hard to manage, dry hair and once again Nuala gave us lots of advice on how to manage her hair.

63/  I recently had a haircut with Nuala. I have been with the same hairdresser for more than a decade but he has moved away and it was time to find someone new to deal with my wavy & curly hair but I am apprehensive about trying new stylists.
Nuala was personable, put me at ease and did a good job on her first go with my hair. I’ve waited about a week before writing to see what I think of the cut. As far as the curl goes she has done a great job and I will probably be back.
She was very good about asking what you want and talking you through what she was doing that I have no doubt that next time we’ll get it exactly how I want it. But to get the curl right on the first go is fab. And she gave me some helpful styling tips.
I would have no reservation recommending her, especially if you have wavy or curly hair – she knows how to work with it! Ewe Bristol

93/ I recently came to the salon for a wedding trial for hair and make-up with myself, three bridesmaids and my mum. I knew I would be in good hands having had my hair trimmed with Nuala previously to see whether I liked the salon and Nuala's styling for my big day. I was not disappointed. Neither myself or the rest of my group had ever really had our make-up and hair done before, and considering we all arrived with no real idea of the hair-style we were after, or what would work, Nuala just worked magic...basically...even managing to get two of my bridesmaids hair up into beautiful intricate styles, even though they both have quite short hair. I also think its quite rare to find people who are good at both hair and make-up, but not in this case. Nuala clearly enjoys being creative and doing what she does, which is very reassuring. We were all very well looked after by the other salon staff throughout the day, we had numerous offers of drinks (of which the choice on offer is huge), and everyone was very friendly and eager to make sure that even though we were sat for a few hours throughout the afternoon, we were all comfortable and had everything we needed. Choosing hair and make-up for the wedding was quite a daunting task, I hate having my photograph taken, but knowing on the day I will have stunning hair and a half decent face (there is only so much Nuala can do about the canvass, frankly!), will make the world of difference to my confidence on the day. I am absolutely thrilled and cannot wait to have it all done again! 98/ I had my Great Lengths hair extensions done at this salon yesterday after it was recommended and I cannot speak highly enough of the entire service! Firstly the cost was very competitive compared to other salons and the hair was actually Greater Lengths! (so many salons advertise them both don't give you the real thing) The stylist Nuala was lovely which is good because we spent a long time talking whilst my hair was being transformed :) Even the shampoo was great! and the junior stylist was lovely. The products used were really high in quality and i felt really pampered! I was offered refreshments throughout and this is the only salon where you can actually have a glass of wine whilst your hair is being done :D Im so so happy with my new hair, I went from shoulder length to 18" and i've had so many compliments already! I'd suffered so many botched jobs in the past and had to wait 7 months for the re growth to get it into a good condition. I have been colouring my hair for 9 years, minimum 3 times a year, in salons all over Bristol and Nuala is the best colour I've ever had. The whole experience was a pleasure. I went from dark to blonde and maintained a healthy condition. The stylist really listened to my requests and my detailed hair history. In my experience of hairdressers, I normally find that you have to sacrifice at least one of three things; quality, customer service or price. However, with Nuala everything was great. The colouring was high quality, the customer service was great and the prices reasonable. I am telling all my friends about Nuala and can't wait to return myself.

117/ Thank you so much Kieran for the amazing job you did with my hair! I managed to get a last minute appointment and I'm so glad I walked in! Started out with extremely dry and ratty hair and left looking smooth, healthy and sophisticated. I love the hair and the coffee was lovely too. The only reason it's not 5 � is because the sinks where you get your hair washed are quite uncomfortable and there were some flies in the salon (but that's probably more to do with the summer weather than the salon because the apprentice was doing a great job in doing lots of cleaning but the flies were off putting in terms of the salon experience). Will definitely come to you for my next cut :) Kieran was lovely at giving me advice for my curly hair and making me feel at ease as well as creating a lovely style to walk out with. I recommend the protein treatment if your hair is damaged from colour or bleach too :) x

I have used another excellent Aveda salon for many years but had to leave as we moved. Not only is the cut and colour great but my confidence to try different styles is so much greater. It's lovely visiting the salon and little touches like the head .massage are wonderful. I treated my sister in law visiting from abroad who had had a home colour disaster. She was thrilled. Some salons can be unfriendly especially if your hair is difficult. This one is pure relaxation. I travel across the city from South Bristol every 6 weeks and wouldn't let anyone else near my hair.

181/ I visited Naula Morey last month to get a hair cut. I have had bad experiences with hair salons in the past where the stylists were quite intimidating and told me what I should or shouldn’t get instead of listening to what I want. So I was a bit nervous coming in. I was welcomed in by Kieran (sorry if I’m not spelling your name right) and he asked me what I would like. I feel like he totally understood the style that I was trying to describe ( “a long a-line bob but not too steep” is what I said). He talked through what he was doing while he cut my hair and even did my overgrown bangs for me. The finished look was exactly what I was going for (not too short or long) so I was happy. He offered to curl my hair if I wanted and I gladly accepted.
The whole experience was really nice so I felt bad for asking for a student discount.

187/ Read the reviews on Google, so I decided to check this place out, and I can safely say I was really happy with my experience! Gabriella did a fantastic job- she knew a lot about my type of hair (long and curly) and cut and styled it really nicely. The mini head/neck/shoulders massage at the start was super nice, and the complimentary drink was also a plus! The studio is really lovely, nicely decorated and very welcoming. 191/ Had a really pleasent experience with a very friendly atmosphere. Firstly I was offered a drink upon entry and then a little head and shoulder massage before starting on my hair. Once my hair was started on I was given a relaxing hair wash that was accompanied by a massage chair (which was a pleasent surprise) that had a control for the intensity of your choice. Recently discovered the Curly Girl Method and looked up local salons that used this method, I saw Nuala had recently won a Bristol Life award and saw how great the transformation photos were so volunteered to be a curly hair model on their training day.

Georgia dry cut, washed and dried, and styled my hair. She's brilliant. A confident and clever stylist under the watchful, expert eye of Nuala who was directing the training.

I have NEVER been so happy with my hair and so many people have commented on it 😁 my curls have never bounced so much, been such a nice shape or looked so pretty 😊

201/ Excellent salon. I don’t live in the area and found it after a search for an Aveda salon in Bristol as I wanted my hair done for a charity event in the evening. My treatment started with a massage which was bliss. It is very evident that Nuala cares passionately about every customer that walks through her door as she was talking to all the clients about their hair and what things could be done differently. I found it totally relaxing and trusted their advice. Next time I’m in Bristol I would definitely go out of my way to visit again and support her business as it is very evident she is hardworking and knowledgeable-especially about curly hair which I found refreshing. 10 out of 10! 203/ The best salon for afro hair I have ever been to. I have never had my hair cut so delicatley and so well at any salon in my life. Nuala truely listened to what I wanted, understood my hair and the different textures in it and taylored the cut to suit. My hair is very coarse, dry and difficult to manage. By the time I left my hair felt so much healthier. My curls came back and I could feel my hair bounce as I walked sown the road. There are no words to descrive how happy I am. Laura
